Following our training camp excursion to Dubai, City were looking to get the league form back on track following the home defeat to Man Utd before the international break.

We started strong with Ivan Lloyd testing Jonas Lossl twice in the opening half an hour, with the Ashwood back line being largely unaffected by the hosts.

The second half proved much more difficult as Huddersfield turned up the tempo, a goal-line clearance from Ashwood’s Adeyemi looked like it had secured a point for us, but after a controversial coming together between Tonton Zola Moukoko and Rajiv van La Parra, the home side were awarded a freekick.

Aaron Mooy struck it well and Huddersfield took the lead in the 82nd minute. Despite some late subs from Head Coach Felix Grosjean; Ashwood were unable to close the gap.

Full time: Huddersfield Town 1-0 Ashwood City.
